Jo Ellen has a Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts from Valparaiso University and a Master of Arts in Education from Concordia University Chicago. She has 25 years of teaching experience, 11 of those years were spent as a teaching principal at Jehovah Lutheran School in Chicago.
Jo Ellen is married and has three children.

Leticia Navarro graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She holds endorsements in Teaching English as a Second Language and teaching middle school. Through her journey in education Ms. Navarro has had the opportunity to work with students ages three through twelve. She is a member of The National Association for Education of Young Children and The Illinois Education Association. This is Ms. Navarro’s first year teaching at Lutheran Unity School. She is thankful to be a part of a great team here at Lutheran Unity.

Bonnie Draeger

Bonnie graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She received a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University Chicago. Her teaching career began with eight years of service at a small Christian school in Miami, Florida. Circumstances necessitated a move back to Chicago where she taught at Salem Christian School for 15 years. Three years ago she began teaching at Jehovah Lutheran School where her current ministry is in a combined kindergarten/first grade classroom.

Mark Wickboldt

Mr. Mark Wickboldt has served in the teaching ministry since 1974. He earned both his BA in Education and MA in Educational Administration from Concordia University, River Forest. He served Zion Lutheran School in Akron, Ohio, and Messiah Lutheran School in Chicago before coming to Lutheran Unity East. Most of his teaching experience has been in the middle and upper grades. He was principal at Messiah from 1983-1993 and again from 2001-2011. Mr. Wickboldt has coached a variety of school sports over the years, and especially enjoys coaching cross country and track. Mark and his wife, Cindy (also a Lutheran teacher), live in Chicago and have two grown children, Joel and Anne. In addition to teaching and coaching, Mark enjoys listening to music, walking at the Chicago Botanic Gardens and Forest Preserve nature centers, and rollerblading and biking on the Cook County Forest Preserve bike trails.

Liza graduated in June of 2007 with a BA in Secondary Education Social Science from DePaul University. Thereupon, she tutored Reading and Math classes with Brain Hurricane and Discover Music, Discover Life. Her last tutoring assignment lead Liza to Jehovah Lutheran School where she taught for one year as the Language Arts and Social Studies teacher for grades 4-8 and served as the 7/8 homeroom teacher. She was also fortunate to have had the opportunity to coach 7/8 volleyball and basketball. This next year at Lutheran Unity East is something that she looks forward to with pleasure.
