Music

Deborah Johnson grew up in Racine, Wisconsin. There she attended St. John's Lutheran School and Racine Lutheran High. Upon graduating from Concordia College in River Forest, Illinois, with her degree in elementary education/director of parish music; she taught classroom music at St. Peter in Schaumburg where she also met her husband, Eric, of twenty-five years. She moved on to Tabor, Chicago, and taught 3/4 grade and was the children's choir director. Once her children were born she stayed at home, but continued at Tabor as their organist and adult choir director. When her children were old enough she took a job teaching 4th grade and music/choir at St. Paul, Canfield merging into the music position she now has with LUSA.
